The Palestinian Islamist terror group Hamas, which was responsible for the brutal attack against Israel on October 7 of last year, mourned the death of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi.  The United States had a much too similar response to Hamas, sending “condolences.” Despite Iran’s human rights abuses and Raisi being nicknamed “The Butcher of Tehran” State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller said in a statement:

“The United States expresses its official condolences for the death of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Amir-Abdollahian, and other members of their delegation in a helicopter crash in northwest Iran.”

Just The News reported that Miller defended the State Department’s message during a press conference Monday, stating that the U.S. offered condolences upon the deaths of Venezuelan leader Hugo Chavez and Soviet leader Joseph Stalin, both of whom the U.S. had major disagreements with.

“It is a step that the United States takes, recognizing that people have families, and in no way, in no way at all undermining our fundamental view of the Iranian regime and its crimes against its own people and our support for the Iranian people,” Miller said

Hamas thanked the murderous leader for its support of the Palestinian people during the current war with Israel. “These leaders supported the legitimate struggle of our people against the Zionist entity, provided valued support to the Palestinian resistance, and made tireless efforts in solidarity and support in all forums and fields for our people in the steadfast Gaza Strip during the Battle of Al-Aqsa Flood,” referring to the war with Israel which began on Oct 7.
