U.S. and China ‘are on the brink of war,’ Billionaire Ray Dalio and others warn

The United States and China are on the brink of war, said billionaire Ray Dalio. Dalio returned from China recently and his experience there was unlike what he had encountered on past trips into the region. He warned “the scale of the threat” that the Communist Chinese Party poses to global and American national security is at an apex.
Dalio published an article on the social media site Linked-In regarding the “great power conflict. ” He said what’s going on with China is unlike anything he has witnessed in the past and his last two recent visits to Beijing strengthened those fears.
“The United States and China are on the brink of war and are beyond the ability to talk,” Dalio wrote. “I want to emphasize that by saying that they are on the brink, I don’t mean to say that they will necessarily go over the brink. I mean to say that they are very close to crossing red lines that, if crossed, will irrevocably push them over the brink into some type of war that damages these two countries and causes damage to the world order in severe and irrevocable ways—like Russia’s invasion of Ukraine did for Russia and the world, just much bigger.”
Dalio isn’t the only one warning of a possible impending war between the United States and the Chinese nuclear power but policy analysts, including prominent China expert and author Gordan Chang are also issuing dire warnings.
Chang told me on a recent The Sara Carter Show podcast that China is determined to be globally dominant and is pursuing both economic and warlike actions against the United States and its assets globally to effort that reality. Part of making Beijing’s plans a reality is the formation of new stronger alliances with adversaries of the United States, Chang said.
Chang emphasized that not even past historical conflicts can compare to what the Chinese Communist Party is doing today.
“You know, a lot of people will say, Oh, how about 1962, the Cuban Missile Crisis, or 1961, the Checkpoint Charlie crisis in Berlin,” he said. “What we now know from the Soviet archives is that Khrushchev was not willing to use his nuclear weapons. And we course know that Kennedy didn’t want to, but right now, we don’t know what Vladimir Putin or Xi Jinping will do. And both are making threats, unprovoked threats to use their most destructive weapons.”
Chang noted that this is a critical moment, adding that the perfect storm is being aided by feckless and dangerous leadership in Washington D.C.
“We have a Biden administration, which misunderstands Chinese policy, it’s a fundamental misunderstanding, because China doesn’t call us a competitor, as (President Joe) Biden does, doesn’t even use the word adversary uses the word enemy,” he said. “They declared a people’s war on the United States in May 2019. They are despite official denials conducting a campaign of unrestricted warfare against the US. Americans are dying as a result COVID…And so we are not protecting ourselves. The administration doesn’t understand the challenge. And it’s not taking the measures that are necessary to save the United States.”
According to Fox News “Dalio founded the world’s largest hedge fund firm which manages $124 billion, according to Forbes. The billionaire has been criticized for his financial exposure to the Chinese government. In 2021, Dalio equated human rights abuses in China to racism in America, and rhetorically asked whether or not he should still be investing in the United States.”

Electric Vehicle company with Chinese ties awarded $500 million of taxpayer money for 2nd U.S. plant

With a little help from their Democrat friends, a Chinese electric vehicle (EV) battery company with ties to the Chinese Communist Party just announced the opening of its second plant in the United States.
Fox News reports Gotion Inc., whose parent company Gotion High-Tech is based in Hefei, China, unveiled plans to build a $2 billion lithium battery plant in Manteno, Illinois, alongside Democratic Gov. J.B. Pritzker, who cheered the project.
The announcement comes amid growing opposition to the company’s plans to build a billion-dollar factory in Mecosta County, Michigan.
In order to make the expansion happen, lobbyists for the Chinese Communist Party-tied electric vehicle company funneled cash to Democrats. “Individuals at a law firm registered as foreign agents to lobby on behalf of Gotion, a Chinese electric vehicle battery company developing a controversial project in Michigan, and wired campaign contributions to several top Democrats” reports Fox News.
“According to state and federal filings, Monique Field-Foster, an attorney at the Lansing office of the Warner Norcross + Judd law firm who is acting as a foreign agent on behalf of Gotion, donated to the campaigns of Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, Whitmer’s sister Liz Gereghty and Michigan Democratic Senate hopeful Rep. Elissa Slotkin” the Fox News report continued.
“With the right incentives, nation-leading infrastructure, world-class workforce and booming clean energy production, we have transformed ourselves into an attractive location for global manufacturers. Today, we take another leap forward. It’s my pleasure to welcome Gotion to Illinois and to show the world yet again that Illinois is ready to be a player on the world stage.”
Pritzker delivered remarks late last week thanking Gotion for choosing Illinois to call “home” in a ceremony with leaders from Gotion High-Tech, including Li Zhen, the company’s chairman and president, who said he expected the factory to open in less than 12 months.
“All that we see here [in Illinois] are of enormous value to us: an enabling business environment, a supportive state government for the new energy industry and their highly efficient work, as well as the prospects of the State of Illinois in the coming years,” the Gotion president added. “We believe that Gotion’s battery technology will help to boost e-mobility in North America and the economic and trade exchanges between China and the U.S.”
