In a major shift in immigration enforcement from the previous administration, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) under President Donald Trump has deported nearly 300 illegal immigrants identified as members of violent gangs now designated as foreign terrorist organizations, Breitbart reports. This action comes within the first 100 days of Trump’s return to the White House, signaling a dramatic change from the policies of the Biden administration and promises kept to Americans.
DHS officials announced Tuesday that the agency has ramped up efforts to locate and remove individuals with ties to dangerous transnational gangs. According to DHS, the nearly 300 deported individuals were affiliated with two particularly notorious gangs: Tren de Aragua and MS-13. Both organizations have been officially classified as foreign terrorist organizations, reflecting the growing concern about the threat they pose both domestically and internationally.
Tren de Aragua, a Venezuelan gang, has rapidly expanded its operations throughout Latin America and, more recently, into the United States. Law enforcement officials have raised alarms about the group’s involvement in a range of criminal activities, including drug trafficking, extortion, and violent assaults. The gang’s growing presence in the U.S. has been linked to a rise in crime in several major cities.
MS-13, another gang targeted by the recent deportations, has long been recognized as one of the most dangerous criminal organizations in the Western Hemisphere. Known for its brutal tactics and international reach, MS-13 has been a focal point of U.S. anti-gang efforts for years.
The agency reported that overall deportations since Trump took office have exceeded 142,000, a figure that already surpasses the total number of removals during the first two fiscal years of the Biden administration. Officials say this surge in deportations is the result of a coordinated effort to restore law and order and address the rise in gang-related violence across the country.
Many of those deported were sent to El Salvador’s Terrorism Confinement Center (CECOT), a high-security facility designed to house individuals convicted of terrorism and other serious crimes. The decision to deport these gang members to such a facility underscores the seriousness with which the Trump administration is treating the issue.
DHS officials revealed that, since January, approximately 600 arrests have involved members of Tren de Aragua alone. Many of these individuals reportedly entered the country during the previous administration, taking advantage of what critics described as more lenient enforcement policies.
As the Trump administration continues to prioritize the removal of individuals linked to terrorism and organized crime, the debate over immigration policy is likely to remain a central issue in American politics.
Some people do not understand how dangerous and vicious these M-13 gang members are. I wonder how many Democrat Leaders would want them in their homes… invited or not?
President Trump is doing America and it’s People a wonderful thing by removing illegal immigrants from America. It saves me the time and effort getting rid of them myself and having to get rid of them for good!
