President Donald Trump is considering the possibility of a short-term quarantine against coronavirus for New York, New Jersey and parts of Connecticut. Trump told reporters Saturday at the White House that it’s an effort to temporarily stop travel from hotspots in the country.
According to reports Trump’s plan would restrict travel for two weeks “because they are having problems down in Florida with New Yorkers going down and we don’t want that.”
“I’m thinking about that right now. We might not have to do it, but there’s a possibility that sometime today we’ll do a quarantine,” said Trump. “Short-term, two week on New York, probably New Jersey and certain parts of Connecticut.”
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo said he only spoke the president Saturday about approval for new temporary hospitals and not a quarantine, according to reports.
“I don’t even know what that means,” Cuomo said.
