Trump Cabinet Picks Receive Bomb Threats

Published

According to a spokesperson for the Trump transition team, several members the president-elect has chosen for prominent cabinet positions have received bomb threats.

National Review reported the breaking news Wednesday:

The individuals “were targeted in violent, unAmerican threats to their lives and those who live with them,” transition spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt said in a statement. “These attacks ranged from bomb threats to ‘swatting.’”

“Swatting” refers to a hoax call made to police feigning an emergency, drawing a heavy police response and SWAT teams to the given location. The threats were determined to be non-credible and may have simply been launched on social media.

In a statement, the FBI claimed it “is aware of numerous bomb threats and swatting incidents targeting incoming administration nominees and appointees, and we are working with our law enforcement partners. We take all potential threats seriously, and as always, encourage members of the public to immediately report anything they consider suspicious to law enforcement.”

“President Trump and the entire Transition team are grateful for their swift action,” Leavitt said.

New York Congresswoman Elise Stefanik, Trump’s pick to be U.N. Ambassador, and Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz, Trump’s initial pick for Attorney General who withdrew from consideration, both received threats.

“This morning, Congresswoman Elise Stefanik, her husband, and their three year old son were driving home to Saratoga County from Washington for Thanksgiving when they were informed of a bomb threat to their residence,” read a statement from Stefanick’s office.

“New York State, County law enforcement, and U.S. Capitol Police responded immediately with the highest levels of professionalism. We are incredibly appreciative of the extraordinary dedication of law enforcement officers who keep our communities safe 24/7. We want to share our best wishes to the Upstate NY community for a happy and safe Thanksgiving. We are especially grateful to our law enforcement officers and military families who are on duty over the holiday season.”

Meanwhile, a bomb squadron arrived at Gaetz’s Florida residence after an initial bomb-sniffing dog from the Sheriff’s office was unable to determine whether explosives were present.

Remember: the Democrats are the party of violence. From the George Floyd riots to the literal storming of the White House while President Trump was inside (50? Secret Service agents injured, and President Trump had to be moved to a secure location) to the literal attempted assassination of President Trump (twice!!) .. this is the Democrat Party’s go-to strategy.

Canada Beefs up Border Security After Trump Threatened Sweeping Tariffs

Published

In November, president-elect Donald Trump announced on social media that he would impose a 25% tariff on all products from Canada and Mexico if they do not take an active role in containing illegal immigration as well as the level of illicit drugs entering into the United States.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau met with Trump at his residence in Mar-a-Lago, after which the Canadian government vowed to secure the border. “We got, I think, a mutual understanding of what they’re concerned about in terms of border security,” Minister of Public Safety Dominic LeBlanc, who accompanied Trudeau at Mar-a-Largo, said of the meeting in an interview with Canadian media. “All of their concerns are shared by Canadians and by the government of Canada.”

“We talked about the security posture currently at the border that we believe to be effective, and we also discussed additional measures and visible measures that we’re going to put in place over the coming weeks,” LeBlanc continued. “And we also established, Rosemary, a personal series of rapport that I think will continue to allow us to make that case.”

The Daily Caller News Foundation reports the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) is preparing to beef up its immigration enforcement capabilities by hiring more staff, adding more vehicles and creating more processing facilities, in the chance that there is an immigration surge sparked by Trump’s presidential election victory. The moves are a change in direction from Trudeau’s public declaration in January 2017 that Canada was a “welcoming” country and that “diversity is our strength” just days after Trump was sworn into office the first time.

The Daily Caller notes the differences in response from the Canadian government verses Mexico’s:

Trudeau’s recent overtures largely differ from Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum, who has indicated she is not willing to bend the knee to Trump’s tariff threats. The Mexican leader in November said “there will be a response in kind” to any tariff levied on Mexican goods going into the U.S., and she appeared to deny the president-elect’s claims that she agreed to do more to beef up border security in a recent phone call.
