United Arab Emirates (UAE) President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan awarded President Donald Trump the Order of Zayed, the nation’s highest civilian decoration. The award was bestowed in recognition of Trump’s “exceptional efforts to strengthen the long-standing ties of friendship and strategic partnership” between the United States and the UAE.
“This partnership has taken a significant leap forward since you assumed office,” Al Nahyan told Trump prior to presenting the honor. He further emphasized that the UAE’s intention to invest $1.4 trillion in the U.S. over the next decade reflects the advancements achieved under Trump’s leadership in sectors such as the economy, energy, artificial intelligence, and industry.
“We are keen to continue deepening this friendship for the benefit of both our nations and peoples,” Al Nahyan added. Expressing gratitude for the recognition, Trump praised Al Nahyan as a “great warrior” and “a man of vision like few others.”
Trump expressed optimism about the future of bilateral relations, stating he had “absolutely no doubt” that ties between the two countries would continue to improve.
Describing the U.S. as a “very hot country” since his inauguration, Trump noted strong enlistment figures, increased foreign investment, and even the surge in demand for the White House Easter egg roll, referencing the “hundreds of thousands of eggs” purchased.
The president also remarked that his administration was “far ahead of schedule” and added, “if you had told me these numbers in a year, or a year and a half from now, I would have been very happy with them.”
The award ceremony took place during Trump’s tour of the Middle East, which included stops in Qatar and Saudi Arabia.
