Imam Asad Zaman, the executive director of the Muslim American Society in Minnesota, has drawn attention for sharing official Hamas press releases and promoting a pro-Hitler film on social media. Zaman, originally from Bangladesh, has also made public comments praising Adolf Hitler and commending Hamas, particularly after the group’s October 7 attack on Israel.

Zaman’s controversial social media activity includes a 2015 post sharing a link to the antisemitic propaganda film *The Greatest Story Never Told*, which is popular among fringe groups, according to the Anti-Defamation League. The film, released in 2013, glorifies Hitler and has been condemned as hate speech.

Despite these troubling posts, Zaman was prominently featured at the inauguration of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz on January 7, 2019. During the event, Zaman praised the incoming administration and expressed his support for Walz, urging him to pursue social justice and address structural injustices in the state.

This was not the only occasion where Zaman appeared alongside Walz. In April 2019, Zaman delivered an invocation at the governor’s state address, and he has been involved in other events with Walz dating back to at least 2018. In May 2023, Zaman attended a mosque security meeting organized by Walz’s gubernatorial office.

Governor Walz’s administration has also donated over $100,000 to Zaman’s organization, the Muslim American Society of Minnesota, according to state records. Federal prosecutors have described the Muslim American Society as being “founded as the overt arm of the Muslim Brotherhood in the U.S.,” raising concerns about the group’s ties.

When asked about Zaman’s involvement, the Harris-Walz campaign told Fox News Digital that the governor and Zaman do “not have a personal relationship” and emphasized that Governor Walz “strongly condemns Hamas terrorism.”
