‘Some Kind Of Strange Cult’: Nunes Slams Democrats’ Closed-Door Impeachment Probe

Ranking Member of the House Intelligence Committee Devin Nunes emphasized that the Democrats have wanted to impeach President Donald Trump since his election in 2016. “The Democrats have convened us once again to advance their operation to topple a duly elected president.” Nunes said Friday before the committee.

Former U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch is testifying Friday before lawmakers as part of the ongoing impeachment probe into the President. In October, Yovanovitch testified behind closed-doors after she was fired by the Trump administration in May.

“Democrats have been vowing to oust President Trump since the day he was elected. So Americans can rightly suspect that his phone call with President Zelensky was used as an excuse for the Democrats to fulfill their watergate fantasies,” Nunes said.
For weeks House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff led hearings behind closed-doors. In doing so, he barred both many prominent Republican lawmakers and the American people from accessing important testimony related to the President’s July phone call with Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky. It was as if the Democrats were operating as a “strange kind of cult,” Nunes said.

Notably, It’s alleged that Yovanovitch ordered the spying of several conservative journalists and those close to the President. One of those journalists was allegedly Sara A. Carter, as reported on this news site.
