In his closing remarks during Friday’s impeachment hearing, House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff expressed immense gratitude for former U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch’s willingness to testify before the committee Friday. She earlier testified in October before lawmakers at a secret, closed hearing in the basement of the Capitol.

“I think you gather from our comments that we not only grieve for what you went through, but what damage is being done to the State Department, to career Federal foreign service officers all over the country,” Schiff said.
“I am profoundly grateful to you and Mr. Kent and Ambassador Taylor who have done so much in the last two days, or three days to show the American people the face of our diplomatic core.”
