The U.S. Supreme Court lifted a blockade ruling in favor of the Trump Administration’s proposed ban on anyone seeking asylum who’s passing through a third country. It’s a decision that acting director of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Ken Cuccinelli said will help ease a case backlog by only processing “legitimate asylum claims.”

The administration hopes to close both the physical and legal loopholes. It’s something Sara A. Carter saw on the ground earlier this year both in Guatemala and along the U.S. Mexico border.  In an appearance on Fox News’ “The Next Revolution” with Steve Hilton Sunday, Carter applauded the supreme court’s decision as a “deterrent” for “the drug cartels and the human traffickers” who “use these asylum laws to bring more and more people in.”

“I was in Guatemala and I was in a lot of these different villages and I was talking to the Guatemalan government and I was there on the ground. There are issues with gangs,  there are issues with gangs here, but the majority of people were fleeing economic poverty.” Carter continued, “They were coming to the United States and they were told, they were actually rehearsing on their way to the border what they would need to say to get into the United States.”

The current system gives most a free pass if you enter the U.S. as a family unit or have a credible claim for asylum. Carter also shared that migrants are coached to say they’re fleeing gangs, domestic violence, and political persecution. The secret is out, which has attracted migrants globally.

“That is a huge problem and it is a national security risk” The president did the right thing and so did the Supreme Court in this case,” Carter concluded.
