Supporters of President Trump’s nominee to lead the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Robert F. Kennedy Jr., have formed a coalition which launched during the first day of RFK Jr.’s confirmation hearing. According to Breitbart, The Patient First Coalition (PFC) announced that they will “be the largest and strongest outside group urging support for RFK’s nomination and enactment of the Make America Healthy Agenda (MAHA) over the next four years.”
RFK Jr. has been facing intense scrutiny from some senators intent on subjecting him to a barrage of heavy criticism while his mission is to make Americans healthier by cracking down on chronic disease and unsafe food products.
The coalition is operating to “put pressure” on Republican Senators who have not committed to confirming RFK Jr. They plan to lead their effort using “grassroots activism and surrogate earned media.”
Executive Director Shannon Burns, one of the group’s four senior operatives, said in a statement, “Tens of millions of Americans have been desperately hoping for an agenda that puts patient health first and ends policies that are making American adults and children unhealthy.”
Political campaign and communications vet Matt Mackowiak, another of the group’s senior operatives, explained that support for RFK Jr. comes as “powerful interests have gotten fat and happy off the misery of millions of Americans.”
“It is time for the silent majority to get loud and demand change. We will help them make their voices heard,” Mackowiak added.
According to Breitbart, “In addition to PFC being managed by a national association firm, the coalition’s leadership consists of ‘16 members made up of renowned subject area experts, from all aspects of health and wellness,’ along with 15 Lead Ambassadors working ‘directly with over 200 subject area ambassadors.’”
RFK Jr. explained to the senate during the first day of his confirmation hearing that President Trump nominated him for the position because both want to “end [the] chronic disease epidemic and make America healthy again.” RFK Jr. added that if this particular problem is not solved, then all other health issues plaguing Americans will get worse. The chronic disease epidemic is not only a problem in and of itself, but is part of the reason why healthcare is so expensive, RFK Jr. suggested, adding that reversing the chronic disease epidemic will help bring down the cost of healthcare.
Despite his position to help Americans live healthier lives, some critics have gone hard on their opposition to RFK Jr. leading the HHS. Breitbart reports, the Washington Post released a scathing editorial targeting RFK Jr. as someone with “a poor sense of ethics” that “makes him unfit to lead the Department of Health and Human Services.”
RFK Jr. has been standing firm in his promise that his mission is to make America healthier by making decisions that will put safety first when it comes to promoting products that Americans will use and consume. RFK Jr. has been outspoken about his position, urging Americans to seek a lifestyle that values making healthy decisions.
