Revenge Attack: Iran Launches Missiles Targeting U.S. Forces In Iraq

Iran launched “short range ballistic or cruise missiles” early Wednesday targeting multiple locations and U.S. forces in Iraq, a senior U.S. military source in the country told Fox News.

The U.S. official described it as a series of attacks on U.S. forces from Iran, according to Fox News.

The source told Fox News’ Jennifer Griffin: “Under missile attack from Iran. These are either cruise missiles or short-range ballistic missiles. All over the country.” The missiles struck near Al Assad Air Base in Anbar, among other locations. According to the military, there were no immediate injuries reported.

A press release from White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham stated that “we are aware of the reports of attacks on U.S. facilities in Iraq. The president has been briefed and is monitoring the situation closely and consulting with his national security team.”
