Rep. Steve Cohen Calls AG Barr ‘Chicken’ While Eating KFC
Attorney General William Barr didn’t appear before the House Judiciary Committee Thursday morning after already taking a political beating during the Senate Judiciary Committee’s questioning Wednesday.
House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) opened the hearing by acknowledging the missing presence.
“Given the Attorney General’s lack of candor before other congressional committees I believe my colleagues and I were right to insist on the idea of extended questioning,” said Nadler.
Nadler’s sentiments were echoed by other committee members following the brief hearing. Addressing reporters, Rep. Steve Cohen (D-TN) said, “Chicken Barr should have shown up today and answered questions.”
Further, Cohen called it “a sad day in America.”
However, Cohen appeared to be pointing the finger in the wrong direction. Cohen sat in Thursday’s hearing with a breakfast bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken alluding to the notion that Barr was too ‘chicken’ to appear before the committee.
