Project Veritas ‘permanently suspended’ from Twitter, says company spokesperson
On Friday, the Twitter accounts of the conservative journalist group Project Veritas and its founder, James O’Keefe, were suspended. While the group’s account was permanently suspended, O’Keefe’s has been temporarily locked—both for allegedly violating the platform’s private information policy.
At the time of publication, the page of the group’s account is blank, only with the message that the account has been suspended and that “Twitter suspends accounts which violate the Twitter Rules.”
A Twitter spokesperson told this reporter that Project Veritas’ account “was permanently suspended for repeated violations of Twitter’s private information policy.”
As for O’Keefe’s account, the spokesperson said that it “was temporarily locked for violating our private information policy. The account owner is required to delete the violative Tweet to regain access to their account.”
Project Veritas couldn’t be immediately reached for comment.
