In an exclusive interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity, President Trump shared that a push for his impeachment started on inauguration day. Moreover, that the intelligence community and ‘dishonest’ members of the media used their power to oust him. Pres. Trump called it a “disgrace” and something “that should never happen to another president.”
“They won’t give you a decent article no matter what you do It doesn’t matter. It’s a fix. These are dishonest people, but when they say the impeachment now begins Sean, this was the day of the inauguration,” Pres. Trump said.
“If you look at the FBI, they were doing work on me before the election even took place. Very early on Sean, long before the November 8 election they were doing work on me.”
The attacks however, continue. Pres. Trump’s call with Ukrainian President Zelensky, where Democrats allege quid-pro-quo fueled the latest push for impeachment. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi opened an impeachment inquiry premature of the call transcript’s public release. The inquiry was based on a whistleblower who didn’t have firsthand knowledge of the call.
“I release it and now you don’t hear from the whistleblower anymore because the whistleblower was talking about this conversation in phony terms,” Pres. Trump told Hannity.
The transcript later revealed that there was no quid-pro-quo, but Democrats including House Intelligence committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA) perpetuated a false story that there was corrupt behavior on the part of the President. Further, Chairman Schiff sold a “parody” of the call’s transcript before the committee only later confessing to the lie. Despited the “unfair situation,” Pres. Trump said he’s “focused on running the country.”
