Ottawa Police to Protesters: ‘We will actively look to identify you’, impose ‘financial sanctions and criminal charges’

Information coming out of Canada regarding how the government and police force are handling the Freedom Convoy and its peaceful assembly is almost impossible to believe. The dictatorial and tyrannical behavior of a first world country that borders the United States just to our north is stripping rights from its citizens.

Not only has money from private citizens donating to the cause been frozen, emergency powers enacted and peaceful citizens arrested, but the police and government are working together. The official Twitter account of the Ottawa police reads more like speeches from tyrannical dictators.

“If you are involved in this protest, we will actively look to identify you and follow up with financial sanctions and criminal charges” one tweet read.

Another one reads “DEMONSTRATORS: You must leave. You must cease further unlawful activity and immediately remove your vehicle and/or property from all unlawful protest sites. Anyone within the unlawful protest site may be arrested.”

Ottawa’s interim police chief Steve Bell actually stated over the weekend in a press conference, “If you are involved in this protest, we will actively look to identify you and follow up with financial sanctions and criminal charges.”

“This investigation will go on for months to come,” he continued. “It has many, many different streams both from a federal financial level, from a provincial licensing level, from a Criminal Code level, from a municipal breach of court order, breach of court injunction level.”

I am shocked that a country would treat it’s own people peaceful protestors this way. My opinion of what Canada stood for has totally changed. I will never look at this country the same again. So sad what has been done to these people.

How are all these threats by police lawful?? Maybe I am ignorant, but I thought Canadians had the freedom of assembly also. Here in the US we have the freedom of peaceful assembly. It’s amazing to me that they didn’t threaten BLM and ANTIFA with these same sanctions when they were burning and looting all over the world.

It looks like it’s time for protesters to take out the equity in their homes, empty their bank accounts and max out their credit cards Bury the cash where the feds can’t find it.

Cops are mentally ill nerds with a little brain not able to think by itself, submitting to whoever pays their uniforms and bullying whoever they are ordered to. The good, righteous cop is only a movie character… Cops are trained to be obeying not to be righteous… Cops are guilty, but even guiltier are those giving them the orders… ironically often elected in free elections by the bullied! Who didn’t show to have more brains than the cops…

Canadians immigrate to the USA. You are such a much better class of people than what is pouring through our southern border. We welcome you with open arms. Just flood across our northern border and you can make a new home here.

You will be free of your dictatorial Prime Minister and your traitorous Parliament. You can work on freeing Canada from here. His threat of seizing bank accounts here is a joke. The police will not run their horses over you, they will not beat you. At this time we still have freedom of speech.

Fauci’s NIH gives another $3.5 million to EcoHealth despite dangerous past of coronavirus research

Just before he retires, Dr. Anthony Fauci has pushed through a new five-year grant for EcoHealth.  EcoHealth Alliance, is the U.S. nonprofit that Fauci and the National Institute of Health’s funds, “to conduct dangerous coronavirus research in partnership with China’s Wuhan Institute of Virology prior to the global Covid-19 pandemic” reports National Review.

Over the next five years, the troublesome EcoHealth will receive over $3.25 million; their first check comes this year for $653,392. The grant is one of four concurrent NIH grants that EcoHealth has; three of the grants were awarded after the start of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The description of the grant on the NIH RePORTER website is to analyze “the potential for future bat coronavirus emergence in Myanmar, Laos, and Vietnam.”

“This is high-risk research that involves going into remote, often inaccessible areas, and sampling bats and bat excreta, and then returning those samples to laboratories in population centers where they attempt to isolate the virus … and then seek to characterize the threat level posed by the virus,” said Richard Ebright, a biosafety expert and professor of chemistry and chemical biology at Rutgers University. “This is one of the kinds of research that may have been directly responsible for the current pandemic.”

The term gain-of-function research has become very controversial since the global Covid-19 pandemic, and National Review reports on the subject:

This newest EcoHealth project wouldn’t qualify as gain-of-function research, Ebright said. Gain-of-function research involves extracting viruses from animals and engineering them in a lab to make them more transmissible or dangerous to humans. But Ebright said two of EcoHealth’s grants do involve gain-of-function research and enhanced potential pandemic research on coronaviruses. And even if the current description of the new project doesn’t involve gain-of-function research, that doesn’t mean it couldn’t later.

From securing funding to completing the research, it is a six-year process, Ebright said, and the project is bound to change over those six years. “If researchers robotically followed what they proposed six years ago, they would not be taking into account developments in their own labs and in the field at any point along the way,” he said. “You have to have this flexibility. That also means you need oversight to make sure the flexibility isn’t going into forbidden areas.”

Going into forbidden areas is exactly how EcoHealth and its president, Peter Daszak, previously got into trouble. Starting in 2014, the U.S. government temporarily paused funding for gain-of-function research due to concerns over biosafety and biosecurity. When some of EcoHealth’s research – involving infecting genetically-engineered mice with hybrid viruses – seemed to cross that line, NIAID staff and EcoHealth leaders crafted work-around guidelines to allow the nonprofit to continue its work.
