Former President Obama claimed Monday that he “handed off” a booming economy to President Trump.
At a rally for Democrats in Las Vegas, NV, President Obama said, “By the time I left office wages were rising … poverty was falling and that’s what I handed off to the next guy. So when you hear all this talk about economic miracles right now. Remember who started it. Remember who started it! C’mon!”

Since Trump was elected, more than 4 million jobs have been created and more Americans are employed now than ever before in history. GDP growth for the second quarter of 2018 was 4.2 percent and is expected to exceed three percent for the calendar year.
The Washington Times reported, “Conservative columnist Michelle Malkin was less impressed, throwing another of Mr. Obama’s lines back at him in reaction to that clip.”
“You didn’t build that @BarackObama. Sit. Down,” she wrote on Twitter.

President Obama has endorsed more than 300 local and national Democrats for this year’s midterm elections.
In his statement endorsing the Democratic candidates, Obama said, “The Democratic Party has always made the biggest difference in the lives of the American people when we lead with conviction, principle and bold, new ideas. Our incredible array of candidates up and down the ticket, all across the country, make up a movement of citizens who are younger, more diverse, more female than ever before.”
