NY Bakery Puts ‘Hero’ Dr. Anthony Fauci’s Face On Donuts
A bakery in Rochester, New York is selling donuts with Dr. Anthony Fauci’s, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and member of the White House Coronavirus Task Force, face on them to customers in celebration of his ‘heroic’ efforts in stopping the spread of the coronavirus.
Dr. Fauci has been integral in daily White House meetings and has been briefing the public almost each day since the President assembled the Task Force in January.
“We kinda just did it as a thank you because he’s kind of a hero, like a modern day hero. So what we wanted to do was give thanks and have recognition for all of his hard work that he’s doing.” Donuts Delite Owner Nick Semeraro told this reporter, “And people right now need a hero, so that’s why we decided he was worthy to be on the top of a donut.”
The shop first advertised the new product in a Facebook post and since then their phone has been ringing off the hook, the owner told me. “It’s great to see that message has gotten that far,” he added.
Like many businesses implementing social distancing measures, the bakery remains open for take-out and touchless delivery for customers “up to an hour away.”
