The video shows a crowd cheering after the group passed BDS. Chants of “From the river to the sea Palestine will be free” resounded through the room. The cheer refers to the annihilation of Israel, which is the land between the Mediterranean Sea and the Jordan River. In November 2018 CNN fired Marc Lamont Hill for using the same phrase in his address to the UN.

While speaking at a Hannukah celebration in 2018 Ocazio-Cortez revealed she comes from a line of Sephardic Jews who fled Puerto Rico. Despite her ties to the Jewish people, Ocazio-Cortez openly criticizes Israel. In an interview with NBC’s “Firing Line” Ocazio-Cortez recognized Israel’s “occupation of Palestine” but when asked to expand on her statements she said, “I am not the expert on geopolitics on this issue.”

Ocazio-Cortez spoke at the 2019 Women’s March despite anti-semitism within the organization’s leadership. She justified her actions in an interview with CNN’s Jason Carroll saying her concern lies with anti-semitism within the Trump administration, “We need to make sure that we are protecting the Jewish community and all those that feel vulnerable in this moment.” said Ocazio-Cortez.
This is a massacre.
I hope my peers have the moral courage to call it such.
No state or entity is absolved of mass shootings of protesters. There is no justification. Palestinian people deserve basic human dignity, as anyone else.
Democrats can’t be silent about this anymore. https://t.co/wJGATOtDsR
