The husband of former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi made millions in stock trades just before President Donald Trump’s inauguration. Paul Pelosi, a venture capitalist, made a whopping $38 million worth of stock trades in the weeks leading up to the inauguration. According to the New York Post, the trades included an investment in a “once-obscure artificial intelligence firm whose shares have soared nearly 50% in the past week.”
Two lucrative transactions, selling $24 million worth of Apple stock as well as $5 million worth of shares in AI chip-maker Nvidia, were executed on New Year’s Eve, according to government filings. Nancy Pelosi’s office is legally required to disclose her husband’s stock trades.
Additionally, Paul Pelosi took a new position with a Chicago-based health technology company, Tempus AI, which uses artificial intelligence to process clinical and molecular data.
The Post reports that Paul Pelosi bought $100,000 worth of call options in Tempus AI on Jan. 14, and since the Pelosi position was revealed, the company’s stock has surged.
Specifically, when the market opened on Jan. 14, Tempus AI stock was trading at around $32 a share. As of Thursday, however, shares of Tempus AI, which went public last June in an IPO that priced the stock at $37 per share, were trading at around $50.50 per share — an increase of 60%.
Whether or not politicians and their spouses should be able to trade stocks has been a highly debated controversial issue. Nancy Pelosi herself once opposed proposals that lawmakers and their spouses be banned from trading stocks — insisting that her husband makes stock trades independently and that she has no involvement.
“Speaker Pelosi does not own any stocks, and she has no prior knowledge or subsequent involvement in any transactions,” a spokesperson for the congresswoman told The Post.
Nancy Pelosi’s net worth is estimated to be over $240 million, largely derived from her husband’s investments, including major holdings in Apple, Nvidia and Microsoft as well as a $45 million real estate portfolio, according to The Post.
Trying saying Nancy Pelosi wasn’t involved in insider trading , we all know that’s a lie, and if she’s married to Paul Pelosi she is involved . Put it anyways you want she is involved. But hey Democrats have been con artists , liars, crooks, and anti-American since for over 250 years or since they’ve come into existence.
