A horrifying discovery has been made in Mexico, where a mass grave was uncovered at what is suspected to be an extermination camp run by the infamous Cártel Jalisco Nueva Generación (CJNG). The gruesome find occurred during a family’s desperate search for a missing loved one in the municipality of Teuchitlán, Jalisco.

The discovery, made on March 5, included three cremation furnaces along with burned human remains buried in the area. Searchers also found piles of personal belongings, including 400 pairs of shoes, clothes, jewelry, and diaries. The Mexican government has since announced an extensive investigation into the site, which was unearthed by the Guerreros Buscadores collective, a volunteer organization searching for missing family members.

The Daily Mail reports the site was located after the Guerreros Buscadores collective received an anonymous tip-off. Upon arrival at the property, volunteers encountered charred human remains buried in makeshift graves. Indira Navarro, a member of the group, shared the shocking details with AFP, stating, “We found charred remains, remains of charred human bodies in graves.”

Further investigation of the area led to the discovery of bones, bullet casings, and weapons magazines. Authorities believe the site was a training ground for a criminal organization and an execution site. The infamous Cártel Jalisco Nueva Generación (CJNG) is suspected to be behind this horrifying extermination camp.

The CJNG, one of Mexico’s most violent drug cartels, is believed to have operated the secretive execution site. The cartel is known for its brutality and control over large territories in Mexico. The Mexican Attorney General, Alejandro Gertz, has vowed to investigate the matter thoroughly, stating, “This is a very critical and serious issue. It is unbelievable that a situation of this nature would not have been known to the local authorities of that municipality and the state.”

Among the remains and personal belongings discovered, one particularly heartbreaking find was a handwritten letter believed to have been penned by one of the victims. The letter read, “My love, if one day I never return, I only ask that you remember how much I love you and say, ‘My anger, tantrum, and jealousy are gone.'”

Investigators also found a Bible containing three photographs of children. The Guerreros Buscadores collective believes these photos may offer clues to grieving families searching for missing loved ones. “These photos found at the Teuchitlán ranch may be a sign of hope for some family,” the group stated, as reported by the Daily Mail. “Mom or dad was carrying them, and they were found nestled in the middle of a Bible.”

In response to the gruesome discovery, Mexican authorities have intensified efforts to combat cartel violence. Under increasing pressure, the government has enacted multiple arrests, extraditions, and drug lab seizures. Nearly 30 suspected cartel members are currently being handed over to U.S. authorities, including high-profile figures such as former Guadalajara Cartel boss Rafael Caro Quintero and former Juarez Cartel leader Vicente Carrillo Fuentes.
