Judges Rule In Favor Of House Dems Seeking Access To Mueller Report Deletions

The D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled Tuesday in favor of House Democrats vying for access to deleted information from Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s public report on the Russia probe, Politico reports.

Sara A. Carter reported last week that Judge Reggie B. Walton ordered the Justice Department to hand over an unredacted version of the Mueller report.

Walton, a federal district court judge at the D.C. court, was critical of Attorney General William Barr and his ‘credibility’ last year before the report was sent to Congress.

He said, “The inconsistencies between Attorney General Barr’s statements, made at a time when the public did not have access to the redacted version of the Mueller Report to assess the veracity of his statements, and portions of the redacted version of the Mueller Report that conflict with those statements cause the Court to seriously question whether Attorney General Barr made a calculated attempt to influence public discourse about the Mueller Report in favor of President Trump despite certain findings in the redacted version of the Mueller Report to the contrary.”
