Judge calls for independent review of Giuliani’s devices

Rudy Giuliani

U.S. District Judge Paul Oetken appointed a special master to independently review Rudy Giuliani’s seized devices. This generally means a retired judge will examine all the evidence. Oetken made the ruling on Friday, Giuliani’s 77th birthday.

The FBI seized 18 devices, among them cell phones and computers during a raid on April 28th. Authorities are reportedly looking into whether Giuliani illegally lobbied former President Trump on behalf of Ukraine. Yet, Giuliani hasn’t been charged.

According to Oetken, a special master will “ensure the perception of fairness.”
