Many people had to listen to former Vice President Joe Biden’s most recent gaffe over and over before believing what he had actually said just days before the crucial South Carolina primary. He told voters he’s a Democratic candidate for the “United States Senate” and then said if you don’t vote for him “vote for the other Biden.”

After a series of gaffes in his long tenure in the government, this one is really sticking. Many pundits, news personalities, Democrats and Republicans were left scratching their heads.

“You’re the ones who sent Barack Obama the presidency,” said Biden.”And I have a simple proposition here: I’m here to ask you for your help. Where I come from, you don’t go very far unless you ask. My name’s Joe Biden. I’m a Democratic candidate for the United State’s Senate. Look me over. If you like what you see, help out. If not, vote for the other Biden. Give me a look though, okay?”

The other Biden? Who is the other Biden? Further more, why did he think he was running for the Senate.

Laura Ingraham, Fox News host of the Ingraham Angle, made a really important point about the latest Biden gaffe: maybe his family should help him out and “urge him to quit.”

“It’s honestly cruel to keep Biden out on the campaign trail,” said Ingraham on Twitter. He’s obviously struggling, and he is certainly not capable of being anything more than a figurehead president.”

She’s right.

Biden’s gaffe, combined with last week’s story that he was arrested in South Africa while trying to visit Nelson Mandela, even had The Washington Post digging deep to find any evidence. There was no evidence – none what-so-ever – that he had ever been arrested in South Africa. The Post awarded him with “four Pinnochios” for the claim. It’s not looking good.

It’s hard to watch Biden gaffe so badly. He’s under a lot of pressure and it does appear that something is wrong. Maybe Ingraham’s advice should be taken by  family, friends and Democratic colleagues.

They should say, “thanks Joe, but maybe you need to sit this one out.”
