Former Vice President Joe Biden told an audience at the University of Montana, “I think I’m the most qualified person in the country to be president. The issues that we face as a country today are the issues that I’ve worked on my whole life – the plight of the middle class and foreign policy,” according to a Missoula Current report. Biden’s Missoula trip is just one stop in his nationwide book tour launching his new memoir, “Promise Me, Dad”.
Biden has not been the only one to tease a 2020 presidential run. Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders said he would run if he was the best candidate to go up against President Trump. Jeff Weaver, the former campaign manager to Sanders’ 2016 campaign, told the Associated Press, “This time, he starts off as a front-runner or one of the front-runners…”
Texas Congressman Beto O’Rourke is also rumored as a potential candidate in the contentious race. O’Rourke has denied the speculation. However, in recent days, the congressman has changed his tune. The Congressman told reporters on Monday that he and his wife are not ruling anything out.
President Trump has been encouraging Joe Biden to enter the 2020 ring. When asked by CBS’ Jeff Glor, Trump said, “I dream about Biden”.
