Jim Jordan: We Almost Had a Coup…and ‘FISA abuse report’ is near
Rep. Jim Jordan, (R-Oh) who is ranking Republican on the House Oversight Committee said that he expects the Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s report to be released within weeks.
Jordan also backed the comments that House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy made on “Sunday Morning Futures” saying that “we came the closest ever to this country having a coup, and now we need accountability.”
“Kevin’s characterization of this is exactly right,” Jim Jordan said, pointing to the actions already uncovered by Horowitz.
Jordan explained that lawmakers learned from Horowitz about the romantic relationship between anti-Trump FBI employees Peter Strzok and Lisa Page, lies under oath by Andrew McCabe and about the attempt by James Comey to “trap” Donald Trump at a meeting at ‘Trump Tower’ before he became president.
Jordan also confirmed that will be “a while” before John Durham’s probe on the origins of the Trump-Russia investigation is concluded.
