Representative Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) wrote a letter to “white people” on X accusing them of still harboring “white supremacy” and questioning why part of him “still has hope” for white people, according to the Washington Examiner. Bowman’s comments were made following the acquittal of Daniel Penny, who was charged in the death of Jordan Neely after the latter threatened subway passengers.
Bowman, who is viewed as a member of the “Squad” and lost the 2024 Democratic primary to Rep.-elect George Latimer, lashed out against the decision on X.
The former school teacher posted to X on Tuesday, “Dear White People, I don’t know why I feel the need to keep talking to you. I don’t know why part of me still has hope for you and for us. Some of you are too far gone. But maybe enough of you aren’t and will join us in fighting to end white supremacy.”
However, on that note Bowman added, “I won’t rely completely on you because I know what’s most important is to work with my community and other like-minded allies in the fight for justice.”
After listing several cases including that of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Trayvon Martin in addition to Jordan Neely, Bowman questioned X users how many times “they’ve seen a white man killed in cold blood on camera on” their news feeds.
“The answer is never. You never have. And whenever you feel discomfort from your whiteness, Black people are harmed or killed,” he wrote.
Reviving the verbiage frequently used to rile up “social justice warriors,” Bowman added, “And there is never accountability or justice. This is the evil of white supremacy. It spans across geography and political parties and sickens us all.”
Bowman received a significant amount of feedback on his post, enough to make him respond, “Seems like I hit a nerve,” thus concluding that there “must’ve been a lot of truth” in his post because “white people on X going crazy on this one.”
Bowman will soon be leaving Congress along with other “Squad” member Cori Bush (D-MO). Latimer beat Bowman in the general election 58.6% to 41.4%, and will be sworn into Congress on January 3.
The Washington Examiner reports, Rep. Mike Lawler (R-NY) posted on X, “I must say, I’m shocked, just shocked that you lost your primary. You will be missed.”

get even Jamal, pull a fire alarm.
I’m tired of this “race” theory thing! I hope Daniel Penney is seated next to me if something like this ever occurred again! He is a hero – and those are few and far between these days!
