‘It’s time to end America’s longest war’: Biden announces plan to withdraw US troops from Afghanistan
President Joe Biden announced Wednesday his plan to withdraw U.S. troops from Afghanistan.
The plan will begin May 1 and will end with all U.S. troops being brought home by September 11, the 20th anniversary of the Al Qaeda terrorist attacks on American soil.
Before the announcement, Biden spoke with Afghan President Ashraf Ghani who expressed his support for the U.S. plan.
