In addition to its stunning assassination of Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah on Friday, Israel has continued to degrade Hezbollah (and Hezbollah-adjacent organizations) through recent key assassinations. Many of these arch-terrorists had been sanctioned by the United States, and include the following:

Nabil Qaouk
On Saturday, the IDF killed Nabil Qaouk via airstrike in Beirut. According to the IDF, Qaouk “was directly involved in advancing terror attacks against the State of Israel and its citizens, including in recent days.” He was the commander of Hezbollah’s preventative security unit and a member of Hezbollah’s Executive Council, and his previous roles included being Hezbollah’s military commander during the terror group’s 2006 war with Israel, and being the deputy head of Hezbollah’s Central Council. The United States had sanctioned him in 2020 for his involvement in Hezbollah’s military.

Eid Hassan Nashar
On Saturday, the IDF killed Eid Hassan Nashar. He commanded Hezbollah’s medium-range rocket unit. Nashar’s past positions included commanding Hezbollah’s surface-to-surface rocket unit and being the deputy commander of the Badr unit.

Ali Karaki
On Friday, in the same airstrike that killed Nasrallah, the IDF killed the IDF killed Ali Karaki in Beirut. He had survived another attack by the IDF days before. Karaki had been sanctioned by the United States in September 2019 for his role in Hezbollah’s military. He was recently considered the third highest in charge of Hezbollah.

Abbas Nilforoushan
On Friday, in the same airstrike that killed Nasrallah, the IDF killed Gen. Abbas Nilforoushan in Beirut. He was a brigadier general of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), and served as its deputy of operations. He had been sanctioned by the United States in October 2022 for his role in suppressing Iranian protesters.

Muhammad Ali Ismail and Hussein Ahmad Ismail
On Friday, the IDF killed Muhammad Ali Ismail and his deputy, Hussein Ahmad Ismail. Muhammad Ismail was Hezbollah’s missile unit commander for southern Lebanon, and had also been responsible for attacks on Israel, including one on Wednesday.

Muhammad Hussein Srour
On Thursday, the IDF killed Muhammad Hussein Srour via airstrike in Beirut. Srour was the head of Hezbollah’s aerial command, and led Hezbollah in UAV manufacturing and attacks on Israel. He also served as the commander of Hezbollah’s Aziz unit of its elite Radwan force, commanded Hezbollah’s surface-to-air missile unit, and served as a liaison to the Houthi’s aerial command in Yemen.

Ibrahim Muhammad Qabisi
On Tuesday, the IDF killed Ibrahim Muhammad Qabisi via airstrike in Beirut. Qabisi was the leader of Hezbollah’s missiles and rockets force, and also had commanded Hezbollah’s precision guided missile unit.During this strike, the IDF also killed Abbas Ibrahim Sharaf Ad-Din (Qabisi’s deputy) and Hussein Hany, another senior Hezbollah leader with missile expertise.

PLFP and Hamas Leadership in Lebanon
In recent days, the IDF has also killed PLFP arch-terrorists Nidal Abdel-Aal (who served as the chief of its Lebanon branch) and Imad Odeh (head of its military office in Lebanon). Abdel-All was responsible for organizing two terror attacks in Judea and Samaria in March 2023.

The IDF also killed Fateh Sherif, who served as the head of Hamas’ Lebanon branch. Sherif was Hamas’ liaison to Hezbollah in Lebanon, helping to coordinate attacks with the group, and he also was critical in establishing a Hamas foothold in Lebanon. He also served as the head of UNRWA’s teachers union in Lebanon.

Israel continues to dismantle Hezbollah and Hezbollah-adjacent infrastructure in Lebanon. Hopefully the Biden-Harris administration will support these efforts, rather than attempt to hamstring them.
