ISIS inspired attacker killed in New Zealand after stabbing six

An Islamic State-inspired attacker injured six people in a New Zealand Friday during a supermarket knife rampage. He was shot dead by undercover police officers who had him under round-the-clock surveillance.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has termed the incident a ‘terrorist attack’. She added, “what happened today was despicable, it was hateful, it was wrong.”

The attack began around 2:40 pm and the officers were able to shoot and kill the stabber within “roughly 60 seconds of the attack.”
