A once self-described ‘D-List’ celebrity Kathy Griffin advocated on Twitter Tuesday to have President Donald Trump fatally stabbed using a “syringe with nothing but air inside” saying that “it would do the trick.”

Griffin is now defending the remarks she made in response to the President’s earlier comments about the benefits of insulin when he asked reporters if he should use it as he announced a decision to lower its cost under Medicare.

Here’s where she doubled down responding to The Washington Examiner’s report:

The Examiner emphasized that the paper alerted Secret Service and confirmed that Twitter is ‘looking into’ the threats as a potential policy violation.

Her original tweet:

This isn’t the first time Griffin’s alluded to killing the President. In May 2017, she infamously posted a photo of herself holding a fake severed bloody head that resembled the President’s face. Immediately after she posted it, Griffin was fired from CNN. She later apologized after Federal officials threatened to pursue charges against her.

“Kathy Griffin should be ashamed of herself,” Trump wrote on Twitter of the incident in 2017. “My children, especially my 11 year old son, Barron, are having a hard time with this. Sick!”
