The website GoFund me is exposing its hypocritical ideology, and may now also face investigations. Uproar ensued after the crowdfunding platform announced it had frozen the nearly $10 million raised to support the “Freedom Convoy” in Canada.

The company claimed it “supports peaceful protests” but law enforcement had convinced them the convoy had “become an occupation, with police reports of violence and other unlawful activity” despite no evidence or documented reports. Truckers themselves are reiterating their peaceful protest. Of course, GoFundMe had no problem in 2020 promoting the fundraising for the incredibly violent and unlawful Capitol Hill Occupied Protest (CHOP) in downtown Seattle.

On Friday GoFundMe encouraged donors to submit a refund form, and threatened it would turn over funds to other charities. Within hours they walked back their statement saying they would refund people automatically. Florida’s Republican Governor Ron DeSantis tweeted he would “investigate” the company for fraud.

“It is a fraud for @gofundme to commandeer $9M I’m donations sent to support truckers and give it to causes of their own choosing” wrote DeSantis. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton also announced on social media he would launch a fraud investigation.

“Patriotic Texans donated to Canadian truckers’ worthy cause using GoFundMe. This BLM-backing company went woke, froze the funds, & failed to deliver Texans’ money. Today I assembled a team to investigate their potential fraud & deception. Texas donors will get Justice!” said Paxton.

    Go Woke! Go Broke!
When will these corporate entities learn that we are NOT going to fall for their manipulative and fraudulent strategies to control our $ and the way we spend it! They should stay in their assigned lanes as purveyors of goods and service and give up on the social engineering! It won’t work! I will never use GoFundMe again! For ANYTHING! GiveSendGo is a nice alternative.Angel

As of September 12, the state of Texas has raised a little over $55 million in private donations, to secure the southern border and build a wall. “While securing the border is the federal government’s responsibility, Texas will not sit idly by as this crisis grows. Texas is responding with the most robust and comprehensive border plan the nation has ever seen,” Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said in a statement.

“The State of Texas is working collaboratively with communities impacted by the border crisis to arrest and detain individuals coming into Texas illegally,” Abbott’s statement reads. “Our efforts will only be effective if we work together to secure the border, make criminal arrests, protect landowners, rid our communities of dangerous drugs, and provide Texans with the support they need and deserve.”

In addition to finding money for a border wall, Abbott has signed legislation which designated Mexican drug cartels as domestic terrorists, and has called on President Joe Biden to do the same.

“Fentanyl is a clandestine killer, and Texans are falling victim to the Mexican cartels that are producing it,” said Governor Abbott in a statement. “Cartels are terrorists, and it’s time we treated them that way. In fact, more Americans died from fentanyl poisoning in the past year than all terrorist attacks across the globe in the past 100 years. In order to save our country, particularly our next generation, we must do more to get fentanyl off our streets.”

“As of now, Biden has not responded to Abbott’s request to designate Mexican cartels as terrorist organizations” reports Just The News.
