Rep. Matt Gaetz took on Stanford Law School Professor Pamela Karlan at Wednesday’s House Judiciary impeachment hearing. He grilled her on the thousands of dollars she’s given in donations to Democratic candidates, her participation in an anti-President Donald Trump podcast and then schooled her on her manners, after she made a nasty statement regarding President Trump’s youngest son Barron.
Gaetz: “Professor Karlan you gave a thousand bucks to Elizabeth Warren, right?”
Karlan: “yes, I believe so.”
Gaetz: “You gave 1200 bucks to Barrack Obama.”
Karlan: “I have no reason to question that.”
Gaetz: “And you gave $2,000 to Hillary Clinton.
Karlan: “Yes, I think so.”
Gaetz: “Why so much more money to Hillary than the other two.”
Karlan: “Because I’ve been giving a lot of money to charity recently because of all the poor people in the United States.” (she said this in a snarky tone…)
Gaetz: Those aren’t the only folks you’ve been giving too. Now you, have you ever been on a podcast called Versus Trump?”
Karlan: “I think I was on a live panel that the people who ran the podcast called Versus Trump…”
Gaetz: “On that, do you recall saying, ‘liberals tend to cluster more, conservatives, especially very conservative people tend to spread out more, perhaps because they don’t even want to be around themselves. Did you say that?”
Karlan: “Yes, I did.”
Gaetz: “Do you understand how that reflects contempt among people that are conservative?”
