FACT CHECK: Biden says he doesn’t support the Green New Deal. He does.

Democratic Presidential nominee Joe Biden flip-flopped during Tuesday night’s debate when he was asked about his environmental plan for the country. During the hour and a half long debate, Biden touted talking points that read straight out of the progressive “Green New Deal,” but argued that he doesn’t support the environmental plan.
Biden, however, may have missed reviewing his own campaign site before the debate because it explicitly gives Biden’s endorsement of the plan.
Moreover, Biden’s stance on reaching net zero emissions by the year 2050 during the debate reads right out of the Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez-sponsored environmental plan.
Here’s the exact excerpt from Biden’s campaign site:
“Biden believes the Green New Deal is a crucial framework for meeting the climate challenges we face. It powerfully captures two basic truths, which are at the core of his plan: (1) the United States urgently needs to embrace greater ambition on an epic scale to meet the scope of this challenge, and (2) our environment and our economy are completely and totally connected.”
