“I think President Trump is a good man,” Musk said. “The president has been so unfairly attacked in the media. It’s really outrageous.”
“I’ve spent a lot of time with the president,” Musk continued, “and not once have I seen him do something that was mean or cruel or wrong – not once.”
During the interview, Musk discussed “Trump Derangement Syndrome,” noting that he had not realized that “TDS” was actually a real thing until he witnessed it at a friend’s dinner party a month or two before the election.
“I happened to mention the president’s name and it was like they got shot with a dart in the jugular that contained like methamphetamine and rabies,” Musk said, questioning why they could not have a normal conversation. “It’s like they’ve become completely irrational,” he added.
Musk explained that while his public endorsement was made immediately following the assassination attempt on Trump’s life in Butler, Pennsylvania just months before the election, he was planning to endorse Trump anyway, which pleasantly surprised Trump. The terrifying incident only sped up the announcement, Musk said.
During the interview, Musk opened up about his working relationship with Trump as they continue to work together to get government spending back on track.
“I’m here to provide the president with technology support,” Musk said, noting that while it may seem like a “silly thing,” it actually is “very important” as he is there to ensure that the President’s orders are implemented as funding priorities change.
Musk emphasized its importance noting that “the president is the elected representative of the people, so he’s representing the will of the people, and if the bureaucracy is fighting the will of the people, and preventing the president from implementing what the people want, then what we live in is a bureaucracy, not a democracy.”
