Elon Musk’s SpaceX, in partnership with startup StarLink, is recruiting users to test a technology that could bring high-speed internet to space by 2021, according to reports.

“With performance that far surpasses that of traditional satellite internet, and a global network unbounded by ground infrastructure limitations, Starlink will deliver high speed broadband internet to locations where access has been unreliable, expensive, or completely unavailable,” Starlink says on its website.

“Starlink is targeting service in the Northern U.S. and Canada in 2020, rapidly expanding to near global coverage of the populated world by 2021.”

SpaceX, which recently successfully launch the first private spaceship SpaceX Dragon Demo-2 mission with two astronauts on board to the International Space Station, has sent dozens of satellites into space to conduct the tests over the last few weeks.
