CNN host, Don Lemon doubled down on his controversial comments on white men being the nation’s biggest terror threat Wednesday evening, saying people who were upset with his comments were “missing the entire point.”

On Tuesday night, Lemon said, “We have to stop demonizing people and realize the biggest terror threat in this country is white men, most of them radicalized to the right, and we have to start doing something about them. There is no travel ban on them.”

On Wednesday, rather than apologize for the comments, Lemon took them a step further, saying, “I said that the biggest terror threat in this country comes from radicals on the far right, primarily white men. That angered some people.”

He continued:

“But let’s put emotion aside and look at the cold hard facts. The evidence is overwhelming. A recent report from the Government Accountability Office shows that. Even though more people died in attacks connected to Islamic extremists, the vast majority of deadly attacks in this country from 2001 to 2016 were carried out by far-right violent extremists.”

Many conservatives were outraged by Lemon’s original comments, with Fox News’ Gregg Jarrett blasting the CNN host as a “racist” and “hypocrite.”

Conservative talk show host, Larry Elder asked Lemon to explain how, ” blacks (13% of the population), commit nearly 50% of the nation’s homicides–and are nearly 50% of homicide victims.”
