In an ironic turn of events, a “defund the police” activist has had everything she owns taken from her when her U-Haul rental was stolen in San Francisco. The New York Post reports, while remaining an anti-police activist, Darcie Bell pleaded for help on social media and criticized the cops for not immediately locating the truck containing her stolen possessions.

According to The Post, Bell said U-Haul urged her to file a police report, and she did so while remaining true to her cause to defund the police. Just hours after filing the report, Bell lashed out against the police for not helping, telling The Post feverishly, the cops didn’t do anything.

“There’s cameras all over this city,” she said, reiterating that the police have done nothing in her view.

Critics were quick to accuse Bell of being a hypocrite. Responding to their criticism, however, Bell insisted that she “literally never called the cops.” Instead, she apparently contacted U-Haul to report the theft and sought help from social media followers on locating the stolen truck, rather than quickly going to the police.

“If you see a 26 foot uhaul truck with the Arizona plate AL50003- would you let me know because it had like everything I own on it,” Bell, who goes by Jerque Cousteau on X, wrote on the platform.

Bay State of Mind, which comments on San Francisco Bay Area politics, posted on X, “Anti Police activist begs the police to help.” They also posted side-by-side screenshots of Bell blasting the police and calling to defund them next to her recent post asking for help finding her stolen rental truck.

To Bell’s critics calling her out for her circumstance, she mocked them, writing “Look at these good, Christian ‘victim advocates’ celebrating my kids losing their belongings at Christmas.”

The reality is that a “defund the police” advocate has had a crime committed against her, and instead of realizing the need for police, she doubled down on her hatred of them. Rather than turning to those who are specially trained and have the means to solve a theft, Bell turned to social media users, and critics appear to find the situation noteworthy.
