The national security implications along the southern border with Mexico has existed for decades, Sara Carter told Lou Dobbs on Tuesday.

“This is the first time we have a president who is willing to do the right thing,” said Carter.“We only know about the people we catch not about the people we don’t catch.”

Carter reported from the border in McAllen, TX last week where she encountered two Special Interest Aliens from Bangladesh, who agreed to speak with her about their arduous journey. The two men were taken into custody by Border Patrol agents shortly thereafter.

President Donald Trump is doing the right thing as there are serious national security implications along the porous border, Carter said. Moreover, as Carter pointed out, “We only know about the people we catch, not about the people we don’t catch”

Carter has dedicated a good part of her career to covering the border. Her years of reporting have uncovered the need for better infrastructure, law enforcement resources and better immigration laws.

As another caravan approaches from Honduras, tensions are running high in Washington. The fight for border wall funding has grown even more contentious over the past week. For her full appearance on “Lou Dobbs Tonight” watch below:
