Following last week’s mass shootings in New Zealand at two mosques that killed at least 50 people, the Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said Monday that the country will have new gun control proposals “within 10 days”.

Anna Navarro, the conservative strategist and commentator at CNN, suggested that this could be an opportunity for the United States to follow New Zealand’s example and restrict guns here as well.

In a tweet she said:

“In New Zealand, it took one mass shooting for the country’s leader to realize gun law reform is necessary. One.”
