A Tenessee bondholder group could be holding the key to China’s punishment for the coronavirus it allowed to spread across the globe. The group currently holds $1.6 trillion of China’s debt and its now asking for the Trump administration’s support in redeeming the country’s outstanding payments, according to Fox Business.
President Donald Trump has been focused on holding China accountable for concealing key information about the origins of the virus and for their alleged stronghold on the World Health Organization. Further, the President has recently condemned reports of attempts to hack into domestic coronavirus research.
“They should have never let this happen,” Trump said during an interview with Fox Business Thursday. “So I make a great trade deal and now I say this doesn’t feel the same to me. The ink was barely dry and the plague came over. And it doesn’t feel the same to me.”
