Chicago Mayor asks Texas Governor not to send more migrants, causing the liberal city a ‘humanitarian crisis’

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot can’t handle the taste of her own medicine. Her liberal immigration policies worsening the southern border crisis had little to no consequence for her; until illegal migrants arrived in her city. Now, Lightfoot complains their existence is causing her city to endure a “humanitarian crisis.”
Texas Governor Gregg Abbott has taken to sending migrants in planes and buses from the border to Democrat-led cities with policies that are deeply affecting his border state. In discussing sending migrants to Washington in 2022, Abbott said: “We are sending them to the United States capital, where the Biden administration will be able to more immediately address the needs of the people that they are allowing to come across our border.”
Lightfoot sent a letter to Abbott urging him not to send more migrants her way. The progressive mayor complained that some migrants have arrived “in dire need of food, water, and clothing” and echoed criticism that these migrants are being used as political pawns.
“I know by your actions that you either do not see or do not care about the trauma these migrants have already faced and continue to suffer under the humanitarian crisis you have created,” she wrote. “But I beseech you anyway: treat these individuals with the respect and dignity that they deserve.”
Lightfoot’s letter shows her delusion that migrants have great conditions at any point along their dangerous and risky journey across the border. Nonetheless, Lightfoot doesn’t want it to be her problem; she prefers it remains the overwhelming problem of Abbott, leaders and citizens of border states.
Politico notes “Lightfoot recently lost her bid for a second term, finishing third in the election Feb. 28 out of nine declared candidates. Cook County Board Commissioner Brandon Johnson, who subsequently defeated Paul Vallas in a runoff, is to be sworn in as mayor May 15.”

Local TX developer accused of selling land to illegal immigrants creating entire town with ‘four cartels operating there’

Roughly 20 miles northeast of Downtown Houston, Texas, is an entire town where cartels are operating from due to a local developer selling land to border crossers without any paperwork. William ‘Trey’ Harris has been accused of “creating a sprawling illegal migrant town” by “allowing buyers to purchase land without the need to prove income or credit” reports The Daily Mail.
As a result of selling the plots at Colony Ridge without any documentation, an estimated 75,000 people, primarily illegal immigrants, have been able to buy homes and create a town which The Daily Mail reports has at least four separate cartels operating from. The settlement area is approximately 60 square miles in size, and has been developed by Harris through his company Terrano Houston, which uses Spanish language marketing.
Senior National Security Fellow Todd Bensman claimed Harris has been selling off plots direct to a borrowers for a few hundred dollars without conducting any background checks.

A statement on behalf of the company said: ‘The safety of our communities is our foremost goal, and all of our subdivision plots, roads and other infrastructure are built to code and approved by County engineering teams…Our developments have put the American Dream of home ownership within reach for tens of thousands of middle- and working-class Texas families.”
The statement continues: “In addition to these homes, we are also proud of our efforts to improve local infrastructure and bring businesses to the area, as well as our work with local public and charter schools to improve education for our residents’ children and our work with local law enforcement to enhance public safety.”
