Border Enforcer Tom Homan Details ‘Mass Deportation’ Plan

President-elect Donald Trump’s new border enforcer Tom Homan recently spoke with the Center Square about his extensive deportation plan that will be put in place after Trump and he are sworn into office in January. Homan made the case for a “mass deportation program,” citing the fact that Vice President Kamala Harris let in millions upon millions of illegal immigrants, nine out of ten of whom would be getting orders for removal because they would not qualify for asylum, he said. Homan argued that allowing all of the illegal immigrants to just stay in the United States would nullify immigration law and the immigration court system.

The New York Post reports:

“‘The removal process will prioritize individuals based on their threat to society,’ [Homan] said. ‘The priorities will focus on public safety threats, national security threats and fugitives,’ those who ‘got due process at great taxpayer expense and the federal judge ordered them removed, but they didn’t leave, and they became a fugitive.’”

“Individuals who are on the federal Terrorist Watch List and ‘Special Interest Aliens’ (SIAs), those from countries of foreign concern (COFC), are all priorities.”

Homan has been adamantly sounding the alarm that the United States is facing the greatest national security threat since 9/11 because of the wide-open border. It is well known that individuals on the terrorist watch list have crossed the border into the United States, and Homan said he will work closely with the FBI to identify and find them.

Center Square reported that under Biden’s watch, “the greatest number of known or suspected terrorists were apprehended, with the majority caught at the northern border.”

According to The Post, “Under the Biden administration, more than 660,000 criminal foreign nationals were recently identified to be deported by ICE, including 435,719 convicted criminals, the Center Square reported. ICE agents arrested more than 387,000 criminals in fiscal years 2021 through 2023, the Center Square reported. The majority were citizens of Mexico, Nicaragua, Colombia and Venezuela.”

Homan recognized that finding and removing the millions of “SIAs, those from COFC, criminals released into the US through the CHNV parole program (for Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans and Venezuelans) — including members of Tren de Aragua, a violent Venezuelan prison gang — and those identified in national security cases,” will take a long time given the excessiveness of the problem.

As part of his plan, Homan plans to use the US military to assist in the efforts, including providing transportation assistance and “intelligence targeting.” The military will not make arrests as that process remains with immigration authorities like HSI and ICE agents.

Including the military in this effort is not new as the Department of Defense has been used in every administration to assist with border security. However, Homan is expanding the military’s assistance given the enormous number of illegal immigrants that have made their way into the country.

While Homan is focused on making America safe, he warned anyone living in America illegally that this is not their home so long as they are committing the crime. Allowing illegal immigrants to stay in America violates federal law, Homan argued, suggesting that America must be a nation of laws and the Trump administration will see them through.
