In its final days in the White House, the Biden administration ran amok throwing money to all their left-wing causes, and Biden’s Department of Education did not miss the rush. According to the Washington Examiner the department opened an application for $75 million worth of funding for grants aimed at “recruiting and retaining more nonwhite teachers,” federal records show.
Under the program, Supporting Effective Educator Development, eligible nonprofits would have tens of millions of dollars available to them to increase “educator diversity” and “support an existing ‘diverse educator workforce.’” Within the program’s framework is professional development and “educator preparation programs” that will implement teacher workshops and training that are “inclusive with regard to race, ethnicity, culture, language, and disability status so that educators are better prepared to create inclusive, supportive, equitable, unbiased, and identity-safe learning environments.”
Somehow the developers of the program concluded that “some minority students won’t reach their full potential unless they’re taught by educators who share their racial or ethnic background,” the Washington Examiner uncovered.
While the grant application still remains active, the Trump administration has brought diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) efforts under scrutiny, aiming to root out any of its divisive efforts in several sectors of government. Among the DEI features getting the most attention for elimination are those that are racially discriminatory against anyone.
Investigations into the Biden administration’s DEI efforts have revealed that the government has allotted more than $1 billion in grant funding intended to further DEI efforts in “training and hiring practices of public schools.” Parents Defending Education revealed several examples of DEI practices in public schools when it comes to the hiring and teacher training practices of the school’s administrators.
DEI activists are not stopping their efforts without trying to save them, however. According to Fox News, The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), whose DEI programs were also targeted, has been accused of allegedly changing the job title of a former diversity officer following Trump’s order to place such employees on paid leave. The title of “chief diversity officer” was reportedly changed to “senior executive.”
