It’s being reported that former Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams may be the vice presidential running mate for Joseph R. Biden, according to Axios.
Axios reported that “close advisers” to Biden, the former Vice President, are considering adding Abrams to give more diversity to the ticket. This way, Biden won’t just be “another old white guy,” reported Axios on Thursday.
However, not all advisers agree, saying it could be viewed as a gimmick and voters may be turned off by it.
“If Biden were to name his running mate long in advance of the Milwaukee convention, it might be very good politics,” said Michael Beschloss, author of “Presidents of War.”
“Voters in the primary process deserve to know as much as possible about the future they are opting for,” he told Axios.
