Biden admin pushing to add ‘gender identity’ to Civil Rights Act protections

The Biden administration is pushing for Congress to pass the Equality Act, which will fill the federal code with leftist gender narratives, reports the Post Millennial.

The bill, if passed, would redefine gender and affect matters like controversial transgender athletes playing in female sports, giving them an unfair advantage over competitors.

The consequences of altering federal law to pass the so-called Equality Act will significantly effect the future of female sports, as well as a slew of other cultural issues that will transform the way schools address the issues of gender and sexuality.

“Full equality has been denied to LGBTQ+ Americans and their families for far too long. Despite the extraordinary progress the LGBTQ+ community has made to secure their basic civil rights, discrimination is still rampant in many areas of our society,” Biden wrote in a statement on the bill, reports the Post Millennial.

The Civil Rights Act of 1964 prohibits discrimination in housing, education, public facilities. healthcare, and more. Adding gender identity and sexual orientation can open the door to leftists pushing against any person or belief that does not line up with their agenda.

The Trump administration previously opposed the Equality Act.

“The Trump Administration absolutely opposes discrimination of any kind and supports the equal treatment of all; however, the House-passed bill in its current form is filled with poison pills that threaten to undermine parental and conscience rights,” White House spokesman Judd Deere said in 2019.
