African American Woman Wins GOP Primary For Elijah Cummings’ Seat

Kimberly Klacik won the Republican primary Tuesday for the late Rep. Elijah Cummings’ seat in Maryland’s 7th Congressional District.

Klacik was raised in Maryland. She’s the founder of a nonprofit, “Potential Me”, which empowers nearly 200 underserved women with resources to enter the workforce. And, as part of her campaign, she wants to lift people up in her home state.

She’s a champion of the second amendment rights, the pro-life movement, and wholly rejects socialism.

Her Democratic opponent for the seat is Maryland Rep. Kweisi Mfume.
