Various shootings this weekend left two police officers and 80 others injured in another bloody weekend in Chicago. Fifteen people died as a result, according to CBS Chicago. Neither police officer is counted among the fatalities. The city saw an increase of shootings over the Fourth of July weekend this year versus last year.

In fact, the FBI is still offering a $25,000 reward for anyone who has information surrounding 14-year-old Vernando Jones’ murder. He was shot July 4, 2020 but no one has yet been convicted for his murder.

Someone shot a 40-year-old man dead in his apartment for playing music too loud late Friday night. One man died and another shot while waiting at a stop light. In that instance, a man walked up to their vehicle on Friday afternoon and opened fire. Another man was killed Sunday morning as he crossed the street.

Shootings also increased over this year’s Memorial Day weekend compared to last year.
